Ernest England is discovered deserving a worthy addition for future remembrance on the Huthwaite War Memorial.

Private 11251977 Ernest England was born 21st May 1907 Sutton-in-Ashfield. Native parents 1897 Q4 marriage between Mr Ernest Edward England and Miss Lillie Bestall housed their family at 34 Kirkby Road. Father works as Colliery Saddler heading that 1911 household aged 33. Mrs Lily England 33, mothers schoolchildren Horace 12, Winnie 10, Evelyn 6, plus Ernest 3.

Mr Ernest England was an underwear hosier, potentially working at the CWS factory when meeting Miss Hilda May Iball born 1908 in neighbouring King Street, Huthwaite. Their 1928 Q1 marriage claimed a nearby Carnarvon Grove house. No children are listed from 1939 census before the call up for World War Two active service.

Pte 11251977 E England was basically acknowledged by the CWGC when recognising eventual death at home resulting from military service in the Pioneer Corps. The World War Two veteran died at home 24th June 1946 and was buried in the Huthwaite Cemetery grounds. Just outliving casualty registration meant missing official listing upon the Huthwaite cenotaph roll of honour.
