Sutton West Ward Councillors

County elections shared last General election voting date on May 5th 2005. Representing Huthwaite in Sutton-in-Ashfield West Ward is Nottinghamshires Labour County Councillor.

Ashfield did hold local district Councillor elections on May 3rd 2007. Eight candidates stood for our Sutton West Ward division with numbers representing three Labour, a Conservative and four Independents. Results show voters again favoured three Independents, faithfully reseating two Ashfield District Councillors and newly adding Diane Lowe to their team. The dismissal of Roy Atkins later that year called for a replacement with yet another local by-election, this time favouring the much publicised Liberal Democrat candidate Fiona Asbury duly elected 1st November 2007.

Continuing to hold a regular monthly surgery, the re-elected County Councillor David Kirkam continues a local surgery every first Saturday in Huthwaite Library. Every other Saturday the library hosts surgery for your Ashfield District councillors each in turn. Morning surgeries are between 10:00am to 11:30am.
